Youth, college students and religious leaders representing different faiths took part in a peace march organised by various progressive organisations in Shivamogga on Thursday.
Many college students took part in the march holding placards that conveyed their aspirations for the city. Some placards called for a greener Shivamogga, while a few stressed the need to establish multinational companies in the city to help graduates find jobs. Among the placards on display, some highlighted the need to conserve the native agricultural practices and culture of the Malnad region.

This year, the organisers made a special effort to involve youth in large numbers by holding discussions with them on their vision for “Brand Shivamogga”.
