The 86th annual day of the Samskrita Sahitya Parishad, Tiruchi, and the World Sanskrit Day celebration was held at the Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Vidyalaya here recently.

A newsletter of the parishad was released by S. Usha, Head, Department of Sanskrit, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchi. She spoke on the importance of Sanskrit and its usage and gave away prizes to the winners in recitation, drama, music, essay and oratorical competitions.
The parishad secretary V.N. Balakrishna Sarma read out the annual report highlighting some of the new features of the parishad, a press release said.
