“This is a very sad and painful moment for everyone in the State. His death is not only a loss for our family but also for the entire music fraternity,” he said, demanding strict punishment for those responsible for his brother’s death.He urged the Delhi authorities to ensure that the investigation and legal proceedings are completed swiftly.
Vikram’s death also intensified calls for a law against racism, believed to be the prime reason behind attacks — lethal at times — against people from the northeastern region in “mainland India”, specifically the metros.
