In a statement, SFI State president P. Ramamohan and State secretary K. Prasanna Kumar said a large number of students from various districts and remote villages across the State sought admission to the college. The students had hoped to receive quality education, particularly with classrooms, hostel facilities and other basic infrastructure having been improved in recent times. However, the government’s approach had dashed their hopes and could force many students to move out of the State for veterinary education, they said.
The SFI leaders said a similar situation had prevailed in aided educational institutions during the previous TDP government, when regular teaching posts were not filled and vacancies were instead filled through contractual and outsourcing arrangements. “We are now witnessing the resulting situation in which aided educational institutions have become weak and ineffective,” they said.
They demanded that the government immediately issue a notification to fill all vacant teaching posts at the veterinary college and ensure that admissions were reopened for the 2026-27 academic year.
