Washington has signed Nevada guard transfer Tayshawn Comer, and I have learned.

Wesley Yates III, Nikola Dzepina, Mady Traore, Lathan Sommerville, Jasir Rencher, and walk-on Brandon Roy Jr. are back from last year's team. The Huskies then added transfers Parker Friedrichsen, Steele Venters, Ryan Beasley, LeJuan Watts, and Harun Zrno this summer and went overseas to earn commitments from Australian guard Tristan Devers, Croatian forward Boris Tišma, and Brazilian big man Wini Braga Silva. Freshman Lattimore Ford, a local recruit signed from the high school ranks, brings Washington's projected roster to 15.
The Huskies did carry 16 players last season because a preseason injury to Traore allowed Washington to sign Dzepina from Serbia and enroll him in mid-December as a replacement. A similar injury to a player could have opened a spot this summer, although it's unclear who. Rencher did miss most of the season with a heart issue but has been seen practicing with the team in videos posted to the team's social media accounts.
Dzepina, Sommerville, Watts, Friedrichsen, Rencher, Devers, Venters, Roy, Yates, Beasley, Tišma, Traore, and Ford have all been visible in content posted sometime between August 31 and September 10, which leaves Braga Silva and Zrno as the two players who may be away from the team.

Braga Silva was previously on campus and working out with the team in July, then was called up to the Brazilian national team for the 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, but requested to be excused for personal reasons the day before the team was due to report on August 20. That request would presumably be due to Braga Silva's commitment to play at Washington this season, but it's possible that he could be dealing with an unrelated issue that is affecting his availability for both Washington and the national team.
Zrno signed with the Huskies on July 27, per a press release from the Huskies, but does not appear to have arrived on campus yet. A native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zrno transferred in from Rutgers this summer but could potentially still be in Europe, which would explain his current absence.
It's also possible that the NCAA's new rules, designed to keep professional athletes out of college sports, may rule Devers ineligible even though he is already on Montlake. Devers, 21, played three seasons in the NBL, the top pro league in Australia, and notable enough that the NCAA could elect to classify it as a prohibited professional league that would forfeit Devers' college eligibility.
Comer, a 6-foot-1, 204-pound guard, earned second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 2024-25 at Evansville, averaging 16.2 points and 4.1 assists after two seasons at Eastern Kentucky from 2022-24. He is a former three-star recruit from Indiana.
