Kingston Loydd had nearly 300 yards of total offense, sophomore Jakari Faniel had the first 200-yard rushing game of the season and volleyball player Rhianna Burns had more than 20 kills in a match in the first week of action of the regular season. 6 George Jenkins senior Rhianna Burns had 25 kills, 16 digs and two aces to lead the Eagles to a five-set victory over Osceola. She also had 10 kills and eight digs in a win over Buchholz. 7 Lakeland junior Mya Lindsey came up with 13 kills and added six digs to lead the Dreadnaughts over Lake Gibson, 25-16, 18-25, 25-22, 25-19 in the season opener. 8 Winter Haven junior Anastacia Davis (volleyball) had nine kills and three blocked shots in a 25-14, 25-12, 25-11 victory over All Saints.
9 Tenoroc junior Chris Maxwell seven solo tackle and finished with 10 tackles, including three tackles for loss and one sack to lead the Titans over Anclote, 33-0. 10 McKeel junior Lucie Holcomb had 15 kills in two matches, a loss to Montverde and a win over Lake Wales.
