The inaugural session was attended by V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), as the chief guest, and J. Vatsala Rani, Senior Scientist at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) as the guest of honour.
College Principal T. Uma Joseph stressed the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in adopting emerging technologies while preserving traditions and cultural diversity. She said no single field of knowledge was sufficient to address the complex challenges of life and society.
Mr. Balakista Reddy spoke about the interconnected roles of emerging technologies, environmental sustainability and education. Describing the 21st century as a knowledge revolution, he highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies and stressed the need for appropriate ethical frameworks to govern their development and use.
Ms. Vatsala Rani highlighted the role of research and innovation in achieving global sustainability. She spoke about the work being undertaken by research institutions and individuals across the country to develop solutions in diverse fields and encouraged students, particularly young women, to pursue research and contribute to scientific innovation.
