Phoenix Suns' Mark Williams will miss start of the season

Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams is likely out for the start of the season after having surgery on Thursday, Sept. 10. The Suns statement said Williams underwent successful surgery on Thursday.

After proving he could play more than 50 games in a season, Williams signed a three-year, $38 million contract over the summer, avoiding free agency.Williams, who turns 25 in December, played in 60 games during the 2025-26 season, posting 11.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

The Suns begin training camp at the end of this month.
