The Cleveland Browns are heading into the 2026 season with a completely reworked offensive line, and Pro Football Focus clearly isn’t convinced the new group is ready to hold up yet.
They ranked the Browns’ offensive line No. 30 in the NFL, putting it just two spots from the bottom. The ranking comes with some optimism for the future, particularly because of rookie left tackle Spencer Fano, however, the Browns still have to get four new starters working together before they can prove the unit belongs higher.

McGuinness also singled out center player in the group right now.
“The Browns are starting four new players on their offensive line this season, and there should be some hope for the future with the selection of left tackle Spencer Fano early in the 2026 NFL Draft. Center Elgton Jenkins is the best player in this group for now. With a PFF pass-blocking grade above 67.0 in each of his seven seasons in the NFL, the veteran should give Cleveland a strong presence in the middle of the line.”

That makes Jenkins an important piece for a unit that has very little experience playing together. Fano, the No. 9 overall pick, will be making the biggest adjustment of the group as he takes over at left tackle as a rookie.
Zion Johnson, Teven Jenkins, andxperience around him. The Browns are not simply throwing a group of inexperienced players onto the field, but the bigger issue is whether those players can become a functional unit quickly.
And there is already one problem to watch before Sunday. Teven missed the start of Thursday’s practice after going inside with a trainer during Wednesday’s session.
Elgton, meanwhile, brings experience that the Browns would prefer to have on the field. He appeared in all 17 games last season and made four starts at right guard. He also did not allow a sack or commit a penalty across 324 offensive snaps, according to the Browns.
The timing matters because n heavily on its running game. The Jaguars allowed just 85.6 rushing yards per game in 2025, the best mark in the NFL, and gave up only 3.9 yards per carry.
PFF’s No. 30 ranking could look harsh if the Browns’ new pieces develop quickly; however, right now, the concern is understandable left tackle, several new starters, and a right guard situation that could still change before kickoff.
