The Miz has been a mainstay in the WWE for 20 years now, and he has earned the respect of John Cena during that time.
He made his WWE debut against Tatanka on the September 1, 2006, episode of SmackDown, picking up the win after going for a backslide and putting his feet on the ropes for leverage.
The Miz has now celebrated 20 years since his WWE debut, which was on Tuesday, and Cena has sent a message.

John Cena tells The Miz he has his respect
Responding to a post from Miz on X/Twitter, Cena stated that the wrestler earned his respect a long time ago.
The now-retired WWE legend also mentioned how he uses The Miz as an example when speaking to young talent.
Cena wrote: “Respect is earned. You earned mine a long time ago. Each sunset makes it far more difficult for most anyone else to deny theirs. Congratulations on an incredible 20 years!
“You ARE the example I consistently bring up to young talent of effort and turning anything into entertaining!”
The pair faced off on multiple occasions when Cena was still an active wrestler, most notably at WWE WrestleMania XXVII in 2011.
The Miz went into the main event of that show as WWE Champion and, perhaps to the surprise of many, was able to come away with the win on the night after some help from The Rock.
Sadly, despite Cena facing a number of old opponents during his final run with the company in 2025, he never clashed with Miz.
The last time the pair shared the same ring for a match instead came on a 2024 episode of Raw, which saw Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh face the team of John Cena, R-Truth and The Miz, with the latter coming out on top.
