Krypto Saves the Day! Season 2 Has Finally Started
Krypto Saves the Day! Season 2's first episode marks Supergirl's return to the DC series after a season 1 finale cameo. In the new episode, Kara takes Krypto with her on a space bus ride, only he is not a fan of staying in confined spaces, and so all types of troubles emerge as Krypto zooms around the space bus. While Gunn has confirmed in the past that Krypto Saves the Day! is not canon to the DCU, the show is very much spiritually connected to the franchise.
Not only is Krypto designed after his DCU counterpart, but this episode with Supergirl is directly inspired by their DCU dynamic and the journey Kara and Ruthye went on during a space bus trip in their live-action DC movie. Additionally, Lobo, whose design looks close to Jason Momoa's Lobo from the Supergirl movie, has a cameo near the end of the episode, boosting the DCU connections.
James Gunn's Superman Series Returns At The Perfect Time
Krypto Saves the Day! Season 2 could not have debuted at a better time. Not only does it help during the wait for Man of Tomorrow, but Gunn's Superman series came back on the same day that Milly Alcock's Supergirl movie was released on HBO Max. As such, Krypto Saves the Day! Season 2 serves as the perfect double feature with the new DC movie, making for an excellent watch after you have finished watching Supergirl for the first time, if you have not already, as the subscribers will be able to spot the connections to the DC movie.
Additionally, it seems like Supergirl will be front and center in Krypto Saves the Day! Season 2 after only making a cameo appearance in the season 1 finale. In the
