The Legends series has taken us to familiar regions in the past, with Arceus taking place in Hisui (Sinnoh) and Z-A in Lumiose City (Kalos). While Pokémon Sword & Shield is still a semi-recent Generation, a Legends game with a more "realistic" art style has fans pumped.
As one puts it: "If they actually lean into a more grounded British-inspired aesthetic instead of leaning too heavy on cell-shading, it could look proper striking on Switch. " Another points out that it works thematically: "A more grounded style could fit Galar really well, especially if they lean into its industrial and historical influences"
Select fans are a bit more blunt: "I high-key DON'T want Legends Galar... I'd personally like Johto or Unova much more. We basically already experienced past-Galar with end-game Sword and Shield. What more is there to do with that story? Experiencing the past in Johto, or learning any past lore, Unova is better imo. "
While I wouldn't mind a Generation 5 remake (just for the sake of consistency), Pokémon will carry on for the foreseeable future, and there are plenty of opportunities to revisit every region eventually.
