The Indiana Fever have become one of the most popular teams in the WNBA over the last month or so.

It was revealed earlier this month that at least one women’s basketball game had been watched by 2.5 million viewers or more every week since July 12.

Four of the five games to reach the 2.5 million mark involved the Fever, with the other the WNBA All-Star Game.

The Fever are, of course, home to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, who are two of the most followed players in the league on Instagram.

Clark has been popular for a long time, while Cunningham has experienced a sudden spike in notoriety since the debate around transgender athletes competing in the WNBA began to grow in July.

Sophie gained 1.4 million followers on Instagram in 30 days recently, and there is clearly much interest in her and the rest of the Fever team right now.

Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings averaged same viewership as NBA on Prime Video last season

This has been made evident by the fact a recent Fever game has set a viewership record on Amazon Prime Video.

The Fever faced off with the Dallas Wings towards the end of last week, losing 91-85 on the night.

The game was broadcast on Prime Video, and as per Awful Announcing, it was the most-watched WNBA game ever on the streaming platform since Prime began to be Nielsen-rated.

An average of 1.07 million viewers watched the match, which put it on par with NBA viewership figures from their most recent season.

The same report mentions that the NBA on Prime Video averaged 1.07 million viewers in their last campaign.
