“I don’t think there was a problem with the game. We created a lot of chances and in the end, by not scoring them, the match got a little crazy. We have to have more control,” he said.
When asked about the team’s mindset throughout the game, he explained why he thinks Real Madrid need to compete better.
“We have to compete a little better. You see the opponents, they get fouled and they roll around three times, they complain, and in the end, you’re the one who gets the yellow card. We gotta improve on that, ultimately soccer is about emotions, for the referee too,” he added.
Huijsen wrapped up his brief media availability by discussing how his game has changed this season.
“I don’t meditate or anything like that. In the end, when you first arrive, you don’t really know the magnitude of the club. Now, even though there’s always new stuff, I’m more used to it, I feel more at home. My career has been pretty hectic. Now I’m good, just gotta keep working,” he added.
