A 28-year-old GST inspector was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a woman colleague at their workplace in Mogappair, following a complaint filed by the woman with the Thirumangalam All-Women Police.
Published - September 11, 2026 12:48 am ISTThe accused, Sourav, a native of West Bengal, is employed as a GST inspector at the department office on 2nd Main Road, Mogappair. The complainant, a 32-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh, works as an inspector at the same office.
According to police, the woman alleged that Sourav had been behaving inappropriately with her over the past few days. He allegedly made obscene comments and remarks with double meanings, causing her considerable distress.
Based on her complaint, the Thirumangalam All-Women Police registered a case and arrested Sourav. Further investigation is under way.
