The jury is hung at London Tigers FC.

To the uninitiated, a team in the Middlesex County League Division Two — ninth tier of English football — fretting over a UEFA Champions League fixture sounds like self-parody. Insolvents, after all, do not typically lose sleep over fluctuations.

And yet, for the club nestled in the multicultural sprawl of West London, Manchester United’s meeting with Azerbaijan’s Sabah FK has created a genuine dilemma. Many of London Tigers’ players grew up on a diet of Ronaldos and Rooneys, Scholeses and Giggses. Their allegiance to United is beyond question.

But in the away dugout sits Sabah coach Valdas Dambrauskas — who, not so long ago, sat in theirs.
