As one of the more accomplished NFL kickers, it was a bit surprising that Daniel Carlson remained unsigned this offseason. Well, it appears the former according to a report.
Sources: The are signing 2x All-Pro K Daniel Carlson.Carlson was originally a fifth round pick by the and was cut. A few weeks later, the Raiders would scoop him up and he would go on to be one of the better kickers they had in recent years and a steady leg for them for several years.

Over the past couple seasons, however, his conversion percentage dipped to under 85% while he missed three extra points and four field goals inside 50 yards. And while several other original Oakland Raiders got new contracts prior to last season, he didn't. And this offseason he wasn't brought back. With the team instead opting for free agent kicker Matt Gay.
Hopefully Carlson can get his career back on track in New Orleans.
