Drugs worth ₹24.22 crore seized in Bengaluru; seven held
The Bengaluru City Police have arrested seven alleged drug peddlers and seized narcotic substances worth an estimated ₹24.22 crore in a major anti-drug operation conducted across several parts of the city.

The operation was carried out by teams from the Girinagar, Indiranagar, Chikkajala, and Govindapura police stations under the South Division.

According to the police, the arrested include one foreign national, five persons from other States, and local residents. The operation was launched based on information regarding the sale and distribution of narcotic substances in the jurisdiction of the four police stations.

The police said the accused were allegedly procuring banned narcotic substances from unidentified suppliers from other countries and States at comparatively low prices and selling them at higher prices to members of the public and college students.

The seizure included 11 kg 237 gm of MDMA, 2 kg 352 gm of hydro ganja, and 10 kg of ganja, along with a mobile phone.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said the arrests were made following raids conducted on the basis of credible information about drug peddling networks operating in the city. Further investigation is under way.
