Quarterback Bryce Underwood sailed a pass out of the back of the end zone as time expired to seal the win over Western Michigan. However, after review, one second was added back on the clock, and Underwood didn't waste the second chance, hitting J.J. Buchanan for a touchdown to win.
The take on Michigan this weekend, and many nationally are overlooking the Wolverines due to that poor performance. However, Oklahoma linebacker and Michigan transfer Cole Sullivan said that game won't change how they prepare.
"That was a crazy game," "Definitely not going to affect our process or prep this week. We know they're a good team. Obviously, to be able to fight back like that shows the resilience. "
Oklahoma enters Ann Arbor with considerably more momentum after dominating the University of Texas at El Paso Miners, but the Sooners aren't preparing for the Michigan team that showed up statistically in Week 1. They are preparing for a talented roster playing at home with something to prove.
That makes Sullivan's message important. Michigan's ugly opener may have created plenty of outside skepticism, but Oklahoma isn't using it as a reason to ease up. The Wolverines already showed they can survive adversity, and now they get a chance to prove they can respond to it.
