CET: 24,283 unallocated engineering seats handed over to colleges

The third and final round of seat allotment under the CET for professional courses, including engineering, has been completed, and as many as 24,283 seats across various engineering courses and 252 seats in architecture remain unallocated.

H. Prasanna, Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), said that as per the agreement, the KEA has handed over the unallocated seats to the managements of the respective colleges.

Apart from engineering, nursing had the highest number of vacant seats. Of 36,238 nursing seats, only 13,407 were allotted, leaving 22,832 seats unallocated, he said.

All 366 seats in veterinary courses were allotted. Meanwhile, 489 pharmacy seats, 22 Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) seats, 20 agriculture and 2,465 BSc Allied Health Sciences (AHS) seats remained vacant.

In Yoga and Naturopathy, 214 out of a total of 520 seats remained unallotted, he added.

“Students who got seats in the third round have been given time until September 11 to report to their respective colleges and complete admission. Since joining is mandatory for those allotted seats, all students must ensure that they complete the admission process,” he said.

For medical and dental courses, only the first round of seat allotment has been completed. The second round of seat allotment is currently under way.
