Nathan Collins will miss Brentford’s Premier League meeting with Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off BST) due to a calf injury.
The Bees captain was forced off during last weekend’s draw with Sunderland and will not feature again before the international break.
“No, he won’t be involved this side of the international break,” head coach Keith Andrews confirmed. “Unfortunately, he’s picked up a calf injury.“He probably felt it a little bit earlier in the game and tried to play through it, naturally, like he would, given the type of character he is and being one of our leaders and our captains.
“So, no, unfortunately he won’t be involved.”
Mathias Jensen is also set to miss Saturday’s trip to the south coast as he continues his recovery.
“He’s doing well,” said Andrews. “He won’t be involved tomorrow. Realistically, I don't think he'll be involved next weekend.
“We’ll see how he goes next week, but certainly not tomorrow.”
Andrews otherwise reported that Brentford are in “a pretty good place” following their preparations for Bournemouth.
Asked about Saturday’s opponents, Andrews said: “I just know it’s going to be a difficult game.
“They’re a team that have really good attributes in how they play the game, attributes that I quite admire. They’re a forward-thinking team.
“Marco Rose has come in and made tweaks to the team, but been very understanding of what makes that team tick and has done so for a few years.
“The team is pretty similar to last year in terms of personnel, who they’ve held on to and added one or two.
“I just fully anticipate a really good game of football. It's two very honest teams.”
