
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that nearly half of Visakhapatnam’s population was facing drinking water issues, yet the ruling NDA representatives lacked the commitment to resolve them. He alleged that the situation clearly explains that the NDA leaders were more interested in ‘exploitation’ than resolving public issues. He said that employees, students and unemployed youth were taking to the streets over various issues.
YSRCP district party president K.K. Raju urged party workers to highlight the alleged failures of the present government to the people and explain the development and welfare programmes implemented by the YSRCP government during its previous five-year term.
Calling for preparations to begin immediately for the upcoming local body elections, he asked party workers to remain alert. He also demanded that public opinion be given priority in the delimitation of wards in the city.
