Dominguez is , and performances like the one he had on Thursday is not inspiring much confidence in his ability to cement himself as a long-term keeper for the Yankees. Considering how crowded the outfield is starting to be for New York, now is the time for Dominguez to show out.
Instead, the 23-year-old wasn’t even able to nail the fundamentals on Thursday. Never mind the fact that he struggled from the plate as well, making errors on the field is unacceptable for someone who is fighting for his place in the everyday lineup.
Dominguez, in 2026, is sporting an OPS of .635 to go along with six home runs and 14 runs batted in. He’s playing better in Triple-A, as through 54 games in the minors this year, he has an OPS of .781 along with seven long balls and 30 RBIs.
