To the delight of baseball fans everywhere, MLB's Field of Dreams Game returns on Thursday night.
After putting on games in 2021 and 2022, the Field of Dreams Game was on hiatus for a few years due to renovations at the stadium in Dyersville, Iowa, the site of the popular baseball film Field of Dreams. But, with the renovations complete, MLB's Field of Dreams Game is back on this season with the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins taking to the field for the start of their mid-August series.
But, instead of tuning into Fox's broadcast for the Field of Dreams Game, this year Netflix has taken over hosting duties for the game. Much like the Home Run Derby earlier in the summer that saw Netflix broadcast instead of ESPN, a media rights deal is the reason behind the change that will put the game exclusively on the streaming service this season.
With Netflix, fans will hear Matt Vasgersian on the play-by-play, with Lauren Shehadi, Elle Duncan and more on the broadcast as well throughout the night. This game will be the third and final Netflix game of the MLB calendar, with the streaming service having broadcasted the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants game to open the 2026 season.
