Each week we will rank the top 10 f, comprised of Collier and Lee counties, plus LaBelle. The power rankings are based on record, strength of schedule, and head-to-head matchups for the area's 30-plus teams.
Here are The News-Press/Naples Daily News Power Rankings entering Week 4 of the 2026 regular season. Be sure to look online each week during the season to see our updated rankings.
Games played through Tuesday, Sept. 8.
1. South Fort Myers (3-0)
Last week: 2Analysis: Last week's win over Gulf Coast has the Wolfpack at 3-0 for the first time since 2021. Junior quarterback Jaydon Henderson is averaging just under 200 passing yards per game and has already recorded seven passing touchdowns, with three different receivers averaging over 50 yards a game and at least two touchdowns to their name.
2. Cape Coral (1-1)
Last week: 5Analysis: The Seahawks pulled out a victory over Dunbar last week on the back of a stellar defensive performance, putting them squarely in the mix for the top spot. But Cape Coral can't afford to take its foot off the gas when the Seahawks face East Lee County.
3. Bishop Verot (1-1)
Last week: 4Analysis: The Vikings shut out Riverdale 38-0 in Week 3, an emphatic victory for Bishop Verot in its home opener. Senior Ayden Gonzalez showed his versatility as an offensive threat, catching six passes for 46 yards and scoring two of his team's four rushing touchdowns.
4. Dunbar (2-1)
Last week: 1Analysis: A drops the Fighting Tigers in this week's rankings. Dunbar hits the road for its next match against its 4A District 11 rival, Port Charlotte, presenting the Fighting Tigers with an even more challenging task.
5. Naples (1-2)
Last week: 6Analysis: The Golden Eagles finally got off the mark with a blowout victory over Lely in the 53rd annual Coconut Bowl last week. Naples was running on all cylinders against the Trojans, scoring nine touchdowns as a team including five in the first quarter alone.
6. Immokalee (3-0)
Last week: 7Analysis: Senior running back Marshon Jackson fueled the Indians past Barron Collier with his performance in Week 3, scoring four touchdowns and recording 112 receiving yards on just five receptions. The Indians are 3-0 for the first time since going 12-1 and reaching the 5A state semifinals in 2017.
7. Riverdale (1-2)
Last week: 3Analysis: The Raiders did not respond well to their narrow, three-point loss to South Fort Myers in Week 2, dropping a 38-0 shutout loss on the road to Bishop Verot. Riverdale has a chance to wipe the slate clean against North Fort Myers in Week 4, but the Red Knights enter Friday's matchup just as eager to wipe off the stench of a two-game skid.
8. St. John Neumann (2-1)
Last week: 8Analysis: Neumann bounced back from their Week 2 loss to Immaculata-La Salle with a 30-point win over Gulliver Prep in Week 3. As well as the Celtics' offense has played, averaging 31.3 points per game, their defense to tighten up, which has allowed 24.7 points per game.
9. Community School of Naples (1-1)
Last week: 9Analysis: The Seahawks scored twice in the second half to take the lead over IMG Academy Junior National and held the Ascenders scoreless to earn their first win of the season. Sophomore running back Louvens Bazile broke out for 183 rushing yards in just 12 carries, scoring two touchdowns and averaging 15.3 yards per attempt.
10. First Baptist (3-0)
Last week: Not RankedAnalysis: The Lions have already passed their season win total from last season, but they are far from satisfied and remain hungry for more. Junior quarterback Dominick Sgambellone is averaging just under 200 passing yards per game, with eight passing touchdowns and just one interception through his first three games, while senior running back Selah Justice has four rushing touchdowns while averaging 67.7 rushing yards per game.
