When SS Rajamouli praised Prabhas for giving 3+ years to 'Baahubali'

Prabhas became one of Indian cinema's biggest stars after the phenomenal success of the 'Baahubali' franchise. The two-part epic changed the scale of his career and introduced him to audiences across the country. Before the franchise, Prabhas was already an established name in Telugu cinema. However, 'Baahubali' gave his popularity a nationwide reach.The films also became a major milestone for director SS Rajamouli. 'Baahubali: The Beginning' and 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' combined large-scale action, drama and visual spectacle.

Prabhas' three-and-a-half-year commitment

The making of 'Baahubali' demanded a considerable commitment from Prabhas. The actor dedicated more than three years to the project while focusing on Rajamouli's ambitious vision.SS Rajamouli has previously spoken about how important Prabhas was to the making of 'Baahubali'. As quoted by Bollywood Bubble, the filmmaker highlighted the actor's belief in the project and his willingness to invest years of his career in it.“The whole film Baahubali was possible because of Prabhas, who being a lead actor in the south film industry, believed in this project and gave three and half years of his life to the film.

I don’t think anybody can get so much involved in the project with that kind of passion, time and commitment.”

'Baahubali' changed Prabhas' career

The success of 'Baahubali' opened the doors to a new phase in Prabhas' career. He subsequently began taking on projects that were positioned for audiences across multiple regions. His filmography after the franchise included 'Adipurush', 'Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire' and 'Kalki 2898 AD', and many more.Prabhas has several ambitious projects lined up. His upcoming films include 'Spirit' and 'Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam', 'Kalki 2'. Another major film in his lineup is 'Fauzi', a period action drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The project brings Prabhas together with the filmmaker for a new story set against a historical backdrop. Bollywood's Anupam Kher plays a major role in the film.
