What's Titans QB Cam Ward better at in 2026, and why his teammates think it matters

The need Cam Ward to be better in . There's no getting around that. He is, fundamentally, the present and the future. He's everyone's meal ticket and the one player who can and the one player who can bring it all down on his lonesome.

So... where has he improved??

"They allow me to be myself," Ward said. "Upstairs and downstairs. The new system we’re in is more of my style. Coach Dabs is a big part of that. And I think the entire offensive and defensive staff, they don’t try to change the person or anything. Just be yourself. "

Several of Ward's holdover teammates from 2025 told The Tennessean that the area they've seen the quarterback grow most from year-to-year is just in how comfortable Ward is playing the game his way. Ward's getting the ball out more confidently. He's speaking up more in the film room about how he needs receivers to run routes. He's operating the offense with the confidence of a player who gets it.

None of that guarantees success. But the prevailing answer from the locker room is that Ward's confidence has grown, and the offense's confidence has grown with him.

"I think the best thing about us is our building," Ward says. "We see the 'true' in people. "
