The new season is now only a matter of weeks away and the Atlanta Falcons have still not announced their starting quarterback.
Kevin Stefanski is still taking a long, hard look at Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa ahead of their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The offseason move to bring Tagovailoa into the organization from the Miami Dolphins certainly created a battle for the starting quarterback spot.
Decisions are being made across the NFL, with DeShaun Watson winning the QB1 spot at the Cleveland Browns earlier this week.
However, the Falcons are yet to make their decision, with one final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins this weekend.
However, as footage emerged from camp, fans are convinced Penix Jr. should be their starter for the game against the Steelers.

During the 2025 season, Penix Jr. threw nine touchdowns and three interceptions as he battled with Kirk Cousins for the starting role.
The path for the 26-year-old has seemingly opened up over the offseason, but he still needs to beat Tagovailoa in Stefanski’s thinking.
Footage shared by the Falcons online showed an inch-perfect throw from Penix Jr. to Drake London in practice, which has seriously excited the fans.
‘I’ll never get tired of watching this connection,’ replied one Falcons fan on X.
Another fan made their feelings clear on the quarterback battle: ‘That’s my QB!’
One fan simply replied: ‘We’re so back’.
The NFC South was far from a division filled with quality last season after three teams ended on an 8-9 record.
Stability in the quarterback position will be crucial for the Falcons to develop and fans are adamant that it should be Penix Jr. who wins the role.
‘I never wanna see Tua throw a pass again,’ one fan said.
One fan even demanded that Tagovailoa be cut: ‘Cut Tua’.
The Falcons have paid out some considerable new contracts this offseason to some of their top offensive players, which the chosen QB will be heavily relying upon.
London is one of those players to get paid, and his connection with Penix Jr. already looks strong.
‘Love seeing the practice footage. That connection already looking dangerous,’ said another fan.
‘Giving the people what they want,’ one fan made their feelings very clear.
