Wednesday, the Patriots and Seahawks will open the 2026 NFL regular season with a rematch of Super Bowl 60. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
New England comes into the new campaign as a popular regression candidate after many pundits attributed their 2025 success to a historically weak schedule. Seattle is viewed by many people as a favorite to repeat as NFC Champions, but they have a new offensive coordinator, injuries in their secondary unit, and an unproven backfield – all of which could be salient pain points in Week 1.

Leg 1: Drake Maye Under 230.5 Passing Yards
(-112)Quarterbacks who don’t play in the preseason historically underperform market expectations in Week 1. Drake Maye’s lack of preseason work didn’t seem to be intentional, either. Head coach Mike Vrabel alluded to wanting Maye to play in the team’s preseason finale but ultimately kept his starters off the field due to weather concerns.
Seattle’s injuries at safety in Week 1 could create more opportunities for New England’s ground game than their passing attack. If New England ends up playing with a lead in the second half, we could see Maye’s passing opportunities further reduced.

Leg 2: Rhamondre Stevenson OVER 86.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
(-111, DraftKings)Rhamondre Stevenson might be the least-hyped bell cow in the entire NFL heading into 2026.
Stevenson reportedly had a great offseason and was trending toward being the team’s RB1 even before TreVeyon Henderson suffered an injury in late August. Stevenson has repeatedly earned praise from head coach Mike Vrabel throughout training camp and the preseason and enters play Wednesday as the clear-cut lead option in New England’s backfield.
Stevenson is a strong runner between the tackles and is adept at creating space as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Opponents targeted running backs on a league-high 22% of pass attempts when facing the Seahawks in 2025.
Seattle’s defense is banged up for the season opener, which could present opportunities for Stevenson to make an impact on the ground and through the air in Week 1.
Leg 3: George Holani Under 1.5 Receptions
(+123)George Holani is likely to get a fair amount of work out of the backfield for Seattle tonight, but he’s not necessarily going to be heavily involved as a pass-catcher. New England ranked 10th in defensive DVOA against running backs in 2025, and they return much of the same defense that led to that success.
Seattle has also emphasized throughout the offseason that they view Jadarian Price as someone who can catch passes out of the backfield, which means Holani is not guaranteed to be on the field for every obvious passing situation Wednesday.
