The Washington Huskies football team will begin their season in the Apple Cup against in-state rivals, the Washington State Cougars, at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Sunday's game will be a major one for both the Huskies' present and future. Washington will enter the game ranked 17th in the nation according to the Associated Press Top 25 poll. A clean sweep in the team's three-game nonconference schedule will help the Huskies maintain those expectations and put it in a position to make the College Football Playoff if the team is also able to post a solid record in Big Ten competition. Washington will also have an opportunity to make an outstanding impression on several potential recruits. According to an article from Rivals.com reporter Brandon Huffman, and a list published by SeaTown Sports' Kevin Cacabelos, the Huskies will have well over a dozen four- and five-star players from the Midwest, the south and eastern states. Many of the players set to visit Montlake include Class of 2027 players either already committed or Class of 2028 players predicted to commit to UW. However, there are also several blue-chip and high-end '28 recruits who'll be in attendance. Here's an overview of some of the top uncommitted '28 players Washington will host for the Apple Cup: Antijuan Wilkes Jr., OT, five-star One of the top players who'll be on campus Sunday will be the 13th-ranked player in the country in the Class of '28, the top offensive tackle in the class and the top player in Michigan, per the 247Sports composite, Antijuan Wilkes Jr. Wilkes attends Cass Technical High School in Detroit, which features several players UW has attempted to land, including one of Wilkes' teammates who will also be in attendance for the Apple Cup. Mylan Griggs, WR, four-star Griggs, another Cass Technical student, has been one of the earliest targets for the Huskies in his class. He's ranked as the 270th-best overall player, 40th-best wide receiver and seventh-best player in Michigan, per the 247Sports composite.

Bidden, who attends Harper Woods High School in Harper Woods, Mich., is ranked as the 30th-best player in the nation, seventh-best wide receiver and third-best player in Michigan, per the 247Sports composite. Jermaine Cobbins, CB, five-star Dobbins, a 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback from Springfield High School in Springfield, Tenn., is another blue-chipper who's ranked as the 19th-best overall player in the class, third-best cornerback and best player in Tennessee per the 247Sports Composite.
