A fantasy football team never looks better than it does after the draft. It's full of stars, breakout candidates and OBVIOUS league-winners. But, even though the team is sitting pretty before Week 1 kickoff, you have to make sure you complete one final, crucial step. You have to NAME your team! (I have been told that naming your fantasy football team is neither that important nor that essential, but idc, because it is to me!) Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2026 NFL season Yes, I take naming my teams very, very seriously (maybe if I spent less time thinking of team names and more on draft strategy, I'd have more championship rings, but ah well, that's neither here nor there). Any time I join a new league, I immediately change my team name to "TBD" (To Be Determined) until draft time. Once I have secured my first-round player, I usually then name my team something related to him, or I find some combination of players to mess around with a name. But that isn't the only way to name your team. There are several other routes you can take. Here's an example: Last season I drafted Breece Hall with the No. 2 pick of my home league's draft. That virtually sunk my team as Hall failed to live up to his consensus top-five ADP, but my squad as a whole was still competitive. "Competitive" being the key word there, as I somehow managed to lose a bunch of weeks by minuscule margins, my team seemingly finding new ways to fail against a variety of opponents. Thus, I named my team "The 2024 Cincinnati Bengals." Lol. These are just a few of the ways to come up with a name, but again, there are so many ways YOU can approach naming YOUR team.
Here are some suggestions for your 2026 fantasy team name Below you'll find a couple of suggestions for each of the top-12 players in current Yahoo ADP. What will you do with your 30 characters when it's time to name your team? Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Lions
Any Gibben Sunday - One of the best football movies ever, and Gibbs' name fits right in.
Lisan al Gibbs - I have not stopped chanting since the trailer of Dune: Part Three came out.
X Gon' Gibbs It To Ya - Hard to argue with one of the top hip-hop songs of all time.
Bijan Robinson, RB, Falcons
Bijan Mustard - Sometimes you just have to go with the easy ones.
To Infinity and Bijan - In this house, we respect and salute Buzz Lightyear.
OBijan Kenobi - You will find that Star Wars characters tend to fit right into fantasy football team names.
Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Bengals
Super Ja'Marrio Brothers - Now imagine if Chase had a brother who was also in the NFL (plumbing skills not required).
The Paper Chase - Shoutout everyone playing for a cash prize!
Worst Chase Scenario - Let's hope we all avoid this in our quest for a fantasy football championship.
Puka Nacua, WR, Rams
Nacua Matata - It means no worries!
APukalypse Now - I find that films are great resources for fantasy team names; already the second on this list.
Pukachu, I Choose You! - If you ever watched "Pokémon", you'll know that the little yellow electric rodent was actually a powerhouse — exactly the type of energy you want for your fantasy football team.
Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers
Run CMC - Can't go wrong with the classics.
C=MC² - Good luck figuring out how to type the "squared" in this — lol.
BestThingsInLifeAreMcCaffrey - Yes. Yes they are.
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
Jonathan Taylor Thomas - If you're a Millennial, you probably periodically wonder whatever happened to this guy.
The ManTaylorian - I love when you can squeeze a player's name into someone else's name to create something beautiful.
Papa Jonathan's - Good pizza.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seahawks
Teenage Mutant Njigba Turtles - A masterpiece.
Get Njigba Wit It - I'm sorry, but this song was fun as hell when it came out.
JSN Bourne - Yes, even a player's moniker can be used to create a team name.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Lions
The Winged Dragon of Ra - Man, I was so hype as a kid when this card was finally used.
House of The Rising Sun God - Great song, better team name.
I'll Make Amon Out of You - Also a fantastic song! Just so many ways you can go.
James Cook III, RB, Bills
Let Him Cook - Low-hanging fruit, but you gotta love it.
By Hook or By Cook - Yep, pretty much.
The Name's Cook, James Cook - Now all you need is a photo of James Cook wearing the iconic Bond suit.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Eagles
Jurassic Barkley - No, this is not a joke about Barkley getting up there in age (for an RB, of course).
Gone in 60 Saquons - The speed depicted in this film is exactly how you want your running back to be running.
Je Ne Saquon - French for "I don't know" — which is exactly my reaction when the Eagles pull Barkley for the tush push.
CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys
A, B, Cee, Dee - Sometimes, they just write themselves.
Now You CeeDee, Now You Don't - Again, sometimes they just write themselves.
The Queen's Lambit - Sounds odd, but I'll allow it.
Kenneth Walker III, RB, Chiefs
I'm Just Ken (Walker) - I had to.
Ken SkyWalker - Luke's cousin from Kansas City.
K9 Unit - Easy work!
