Much can change in one offseason. Local high school football teams will kick off the 2026 season next week. That means a new crop of players will soon make their names known across Section V. Who will be the best football player in the upcoming Class B season? We’re asking fans to help answer that question. Ten teams are currently slated to play in Class B this fall, which could change. They are Batavia, Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton, East/World of Inquiry, Geneva, Honeoye Falls-Lima, Monroe, Newark/Marion, Penn Yann/Dundee, Rochester Prep and Wayne. The Democrat & Chronicle compiled a list of returning all-stars and standouts from 2025. Our poll remains open until 8 p.m. Aug. 28. The winner will be announced on the DandCSports Instagram page.
