It's time to look at some of the top performers in the Lafayette area from the last week.

Jon Carey, Carroll (Flora)

The junior scored three rushing touchdowns in the Cougars’ 42-6 win over Taylor, including a 77-yard touchdown run to go up 28-0.

AJ Asbury, Covington

Led the Trojans with 15 tackles on defense, along with 113 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 snaps in a 40-26 loss to North Vermillion.

Gage Lyons, Harrison

Recorded 162 rushing yards, with an average per carry of 10.7 yards, and scored a touchdown for the Raiders in a 22-20 loss to Terre Haute South Vigo.

Chris Hardy, Lafayette Jeff

The defensive lineman had nine tackles, a sack and a quarterback hurry to lead the Bronchos’ defense in a 28-7 win past McCutcheon. 

Payton Ford, Seeger

Had a receiving touchdown, punt return, four tackles, and was named player of the game for Seeger in its 50-0 shutout of Attica.

Kooper Charles, Southmont

In the Mounties’ 41-14 win over North Montgomery, Charles put up 11 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and two quarterback hurries. 

Mason Brummett, Twin Lakes

Brummett finished with 71 rushing yards and three touchdowns on eight carries. Added a catch in the air for a 79-yard touchdown, as well as six tackles on defense in a 40-0 win against Western.

Grant Peter, West Central

Tallied 76 rushing yards and three touchdowns on exactly three carries, as well as two tackles with .5 tackles for loss in a 49-0 victory over Tri-County.
