With Week 2 in the books for the 2026 high school football season, let's take a look at some of the top plays and moments. You can help us select the Milwaukee-area play of the week by choosing from one of our nominees in the above video. You can vote from now until Saturday, Sept. 5, at noon for your favorite play from this past week. Now that the fall season has officially begun, future play of the week polls will also include highlights from other fall sports, along with football. There's now a reader-submitted submission tool officially on our Preps Plus portion of the Journal Sentinel website. The location to upload your clips are under the top banner that's labeled "Upload Your Video". It's a four-step process that will allow you to upload clips from the week across all fall sports. The clips must be trimmed and uploaded to be 30 seconds or shorter in the proper formatting. Here are candidates from the second week of the football season. Cole Erdmann, sr., Sussex Hamilton: Erdmann's 39-yard touchdown run was part of an excellent performance against Racine Case on Friday, Aug. 28. The senior quarterback finished 20-of-26 for 241 yards passing with a couple touchdowns, while also adding 58 yards and two scores on the ground. Ryan Mahn, sr., Marquette: It was the only catch of the game for the senior wideout, but Mahn's leaping grab was certainly needed in Marquette's frantic 31-30 overtime victory over Kenosha Bradford on Friday, Aug. 28. Jebari Craig, sr., Arrowhead: Craig's 60-yard run was one of three touchdown runs on the night in Arrowhead's 35-7 victory over Neenah on Friday, Aug. 28. Craig finished with 16 carries for 186 yards with his longest touchdown run being the 60-yarder as the cherry on top of the Warhawks' second victory of the young season.
