The Dallas Cowboys are back practicing in Oxnard, and there is plenty to look for as Brian Schottenheimer's team looks ahead to the Tuesday joint practice with the New Orleans Saints. With the Cowboys being in the news after signing pass rusher Von Miller, it is a move that signals Dallas' intent this offseason, and some think that might not be the end of the spending either. Schottenheimer took to the podium on Monday to discuss several topics. Here are five things that stood out. Cowboys not done after adding Miller: The signing of Miller gives the Cowboys a good pass-rusher, and Schottenheimer stated he won't be a "60-play" guy ... so we know that Von will be a spot specialist in Dallas. And as far as any more additions coming, the head coach says everything is on the table. "We're a talented roster, we're way different on paper this year than we were last year, but we're not done," Schottenheimer said. "We're not done developing our players. We're not done getting the young guys ready to go. We're not done potentially adding pieces. But I love our roster." Special teams put on blast: Special-teams coordinator Nick Sorensen might have his seat a little warm after his unit was just downright poor in Seattle. Penalties, big plays given up, it was all reminiscent of last season's train wreck, and Schottenheimer didn't pull any punches with what he saw against Seattle. "Not good enough, it's not the standard," Schottenheimer said. "We know that, but it's also preseason game one. Our mantra is get back to basics. You got to pay more attention to detail. Very, very disappointed in how we lost contain. "Very disappointed in how we gave up kick-side leverage. We did a terrible job of communicating nonverbally on the coverage teams. So, we had a long special teams meeting. It's going to be a big part of our emphasis because it wasn't good enough." Miller will be a "ramp-up" in practice: After the Miller signing was announced, attention turned to when we would see him on the practice field. Given that he hasn't practiced at all this offseason, it is clear that Von won't come in straight away and get work with the first-team defense and coordinator Christian Parker, and Schotty confirmed that. "He'll be a ramp-up. We're not going to rush him out there," Schotty said. "I'm pretty sure he hasn't forgot how to rush the passer or play football, but we'll be smart with him." Charles Haley 2.0? Can Cowboys 'Spell Super Bowl' With Von Miller Signing?Jerry Jones bets on veteran pass-rusher Von Miller to replicate the transformative impact of Charles Haley, aiming to ignite a championship-starved defense for one final title run. Miller should be in Oxnard to watch the joint session, however. Injury update: One of the big things to come out of the game is that Dallas had a relatively clean bill of health, which at this time of year is like gold. But there were a few players who sat out practice and were dealing with some bumps and bruises. "Zion [Childress] will start working back into practice, Jaishawn [Barham] will, Devin Moore will got a few guys banged up from the game," Schottenheimer said. "Phil's [Mafah] ribs, um Izzy's [Abanikanda] ribs, Jaydon's [Blue] got a shoulder. Then two guys won't practice, Jonathan Bullard (groin) and [Dalton] Trigg's got a toe that he's dealing with, but we're not concerned about it." Why Cowboys signed Miller: We know the Cowboys needed pass-rush help, and Miller certainly brings that, but Dallas wouldn't have looked at the Seattle game and thought it immediately needed to find someone, did they? So why did they sign Miller? "Number one, always trying to find a competitive addition to our football team," Schottenheimer said.  "We've got a lot of inside information, knowledge about him, as a player, certainly what he's accomplished is incredible, but what you hear about him as a teammate is even more incredible. "He's really excited about being part of what we're building here. He's going to add a lot, not just on the field, but off the field as well. You can never have enough pass rushers." Cowboys QBs Rave About Rookie Camden Brown After Seahawks PerformanceBoth Milton and Howell got a front-row seat to Camden Brown's two-touchdown day, but neither is the least bit surprised.
