Well, after weeks of campaigning to join the Dallas Cowboys, All-Pro Von Miller has got his wish, with the veteran signing with Christian Parker's defense. There was much speculation over a move for Miller, with the former Denver Bronco being very vocal on social media about wanting to come to the Cowboys, and it appears Dallas thought it was a good move. Having managed 9.0 sacks for the Washington Commanders last season while starting just three games and playing just 37 percent of the snaps, Miller now comes to Dallas looking to be a key piece for Parker. Said Miller on social media on Sunday night while posting a photoshop of him wearing a Cowboys No. 40 uniform: "Dallas ! Let’s make this one Special'' Given the relative lack of pass-rush ability, some like the move for Miller, who showed last season, he can still go quarterback hunting. READ MORE:

Cowboys React To Von Miller Push By Signing Future Hall-of-Famer The veteran's 9.0 sacks were the most since 2021, and what he can bring just purely from a leadership/mentor perspective is going to be worth its weight in gold. But there are some who see a move for Miller as a progress stopper for the likes of James Houston, Malachi Lawrence, Donovan Ezeiruaku, and Jaishawn Barham. I don't. He might be the one to help push that group to new heights. Having someone like Miller to learn from is going to be one thing that the Cowboys surely would have considered. Not expected to be a three-down player, given that over the last three years he hasn't played more than 37 percent of the defensive snaps, but as a pass-rush specialist? Yeah, it can work. Plus, having briefly worked with Miller in Denver, Parker knows what he is getting from the All-Pro, and now the defense takes on a slightly different vibe. READ MORE:

Cowboys' Brevyn Spann-Ford 'Playing On Fire!' In Training Camp Also, this could be seen as a move made by Jerry Jones that signals urgency. The Cowboys know what they have on defense and have added a proven commodity to their ranks. Yes, he is older, but you can never have enough proven pass rushers on your roster, and maybe Miller is now Dallas' best. He might be able to get six to 10 sacks, given that he will likely be used as a designated pass rusher, plus he isn't costing the Cowboys much at all. Miller, 37, has worked out frequently this summer near The Star in Frisco, and is a hometown guy who played at Texas A&M. He's always dreamed of this hookup. And now? It is a one-year deal, a move with high upside and low risk, and don't underestimate what he can do for the young pass rushers already on the roster.  It is a win-win, and it continues the offseason theme of this Dallas front office moving differently.
