The three-day event will feature 11 racing classes on Road America's 4-mile, 14-turn circuit, according to a community announcement. Fans will have the chance to watch restored sports cars, open-wheel race cars and American muscle cars compete throughout the weekend.

A featured attraction will mark the 60th anniversary of the Trans-American Championship. The special invitational is expected to bring together Trans Am race cars spanning the series' history from 1966 through 2020.

Separate championship groups for cars above and below 2.5 liters, along with an invitational race, are scheduled as part of the on-track lineup.

Tribute highlights Trans Am history

Organizers say the Trans Am anniversary display will include vehicles representing more than five decades of competition. According to the announcement, the collection is expected to be one of the most comprehensive gatherings of Trans Am cars assembled in one location.

Unlike many professional racing events, spectators will have access to the paddock area, where they can view the cars up close and speak with drivers and crew members.

Activities planned across the property

Additional activities are scheduled throughout Road America's 640-acre property.

Public karting will be available at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18.

More than 150 competitors are expected to participate in the Road America Autocross Series at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex on Sept. 19. The Road America Supermoto Series is scheduled for Sept. 20 and is expected to attract more than 100 motorcycle racers.

Visitors also can access Road America's free 18-hole disc golf course, visit the Paddock Shop, purchase food and beverages from onsite vendors, and use shuttle transportation to reach viewing locations around the circuit.

Veterans, active-duty military members, reservists and retired military personnel will receive free admission with valid identification. Students with a current-year student ID can receive $10 off admission when purchasing tickets at the gate.
