Video! MMA Debut Starts With A Horse, Ends With 80-Second Choke

There are different ways to make an impact in your professional mixed martial arts (MMA) debut, but riding in on a horse is a sure-fire way to create immediate buzz.

That’s exactly how Olzhas Kayrat handled his first MMA fight earlier this morning (Sat., Aug. 15, 2026) at Octagon 90 from Konaev, Kazakhstan, as the hometown favorite took care of business in an undercard matchup with Bakhtyor Tilaev.

Before Kayrat even stepped into the cage he gave fight fans a moment to remember. The first-time pro decided to make his first-ever walk to the cage an actual ride to the cage. That’s because Kayrat came galloping in on a horse and rode all the way to the stage ramp. The Kazakhstan fighter had his face covered to make the entrance more ominous and even pulled a hood over his head when he stepped off his horse. It was pretty cool.

Luckily, Kayrat was able to back up his grand entrance with an incredible performance inside of the cage. The featherweight prospect needed just 80 seconds to overwhelm Tilaev and slap on a tight guillotine choke. Tilaev eventually tapped and Kayrat walked off with a debut win in front of his home crowd and the horse he rode in on.
