Tucker Kraft Issues Update on Extension Talks With Packers

The Green Bay Packers have a talented roster heading into the 2026 season and have locked up many of their key starters. However, star tight end Tucker Kraft is one player who has yet to reach a long-term extension with the Packers. "That’s the goal," Kraft said about getting a deal done before Week 1. The 25-year-old wants to get a deal done before the season, and he will likely want to be among the highest-paid players at his position if an extension is reached. Kraft had established himself as one of the best tight ends in the NFL before going down with a torn ACL in Week 9 of the 2025 season. Kraft could be the central piece of the passing attack for the Packers, with the surrounding receivers of Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, and Jayden Reed. Quarterback Jordan Love was at his best when Kraft was on the field, as Green Bay got off to a hot start in 2025. Love put together a great season, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. If Love's array of weapons, including Kraft, is healthy for the 2026 season, it could lead to him having an MVP-caliber campaign. Kraft is an elite at getting yards after the catch, which will be pivotal in Green Bay's offense moving down the field. The Packers will lean heavily on the passing attack, as running back Josh Jacobs is dealing with an injury and they don't have much depth behind him. Green Bay has locked up many of their stars long-term, but they need to get a deal done with Kraft soon, as contract talks always get more complicated if they linger into the season.
