For a second straight day, a promising second-year running back had to leave practice early with a lower-body injury.
Henderson joins Jeanty as another high-profile young back to sustain an injury in practice this week. On Sunday, Aug. 23, Jeanty had to be helped off of the field with what was later reported as a sprained ankle. ASHTON JEANTY: TreVeyon Henderson injury update
The extent and exact nature of Henderson's injury is unknown as of Monday afternoon.
The second-year running back appeared to have his right ankle/foot area examined by trainers after slipping on the field during practice. Henderson exited practice early after his initial sideline evaluation and went back to the team facility.
The Patriots have not made any announcement about Henderson's status since practice ended on Aug. 24.
New England is due to face off against the Cleveland Browns on the road for both teams' preseason finale on Thursday, Aug. 27. Henderson has not played in either of the Patriots' preseason games so far.
