Savinho is desperate to leave Manchester City and sign for Tottenham this summer. The Brazilian international’s intentions have been crystal clear for some time now. It has been revealed today that Tottenham are prepared to pay a transfer package of £85 million to sign Savinho. At this point in proceedings, City look to be on the verge of getting the transfer fee that they’d desire to part ways with the Brazilian international.

Tottenham have put in a sizable offer to sign Savinho who didn’t train with Manchester City today.

Brazilian publication Globo have provided an update on Tottenham’s bid to sign Savinho from Manchester City. As per the Globo report, Spurs have offered £85 million to sign Savinho. Whether or not that is an £85 million transfer fee or an £85 million total package isn’t specified. Savinho didn’t take part in Manchester City’s opening training session today due to ‘illness’. It is also reported that Savinho is desperate to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side due to the fact he has been offered a prominent role in the Spurs lineup. Savinho believes that he won’t have that opportunity at Manchester City despite the fact that he featured prominently for Enzo Maresca’s side during City’s preseason tour of Asia.

At this point, City just have to take the money and run.

It seems now a matter of time before Savinho departs Manchester City. The hold-up has always been that City want a replacement for the Brazilian arranged before sanctioning Savinho’s sale. However, at this point, assuming that the Globo report is accurate, an £85 million package for Savinho is too good to turn down. City likely will not get a better offer for a player who is talented, but at this stage of his career is inconsistent. It does look like Savinho will get his move and City will receive a handsome transfer fee for him.

If, as expected, Manchester City sell Savinho to Tottenham, they will be in the market for a replacement. Judging by how Enzo Maresca sets his team up to play, City will be in the market for a winger who can beat a full-back one-on-one and provide service for Erling Haaland and his teammates to thrive. Also, if the winger or attacker that City sign to replace Savinho can be a more consistent goal threat than the Brazilian international, that would be a huge bonus. Manchester City’s hunt for another attacker looks to be the next story to watch for over the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham looks to have put all of their chips on the table to sign Savinho. An £85 million offer for the Brazilian international looks to be too good for Manchester City to turn down. It would now look to be a matter of time before Savinho gets the move he is so desperate for.
