5. At the Metamora Redbird Classic, Dunlap's Sydney Hunt with a very nice putt for birdie. She had five birdies on the day and shot a career best 69.
4. History was made at East Peoria on Friday. R.J. Jackson needed just 60 yards to break the program record for career rushing yards, and he did that and much more. Jackson had a monster game and rushed for 269 yards to lead the Raiders to a dominant 55-30 win in week one. He now has 2,539 career yards and 31 rushing touchdowns. He needs one more touchdown to break the program record.
3. Staying on the gridiron, Dunlap Nolan Riekena hit Joey Joseph on a short route and Joseph did the rest, shaking off a defender, cutting it across midfield, and stiff armed another defender on his way to the endzone for the touchdown as Dunlap took down Galesburg.
2. Richwoods had the upset of the week when they defeated Peoria High 48-30, their first victory over the Lions since 2017. A big reason for that was three first quarter interceptions, the third of which was a 98-yard pick six from Austin Leverett. That gave the Knights a 12-0 lead and they wouldn't look back from there.
