Tiger Woods can’t drive for five years after accepting a plea deal in his DUI case. Woods was in court in Florida on Wednesday morning to appear in front of a judge and sign the plea deal. Woods’ charges were reduced to reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
The judge issued $1,500 in fines and Woods had his license revoked for five years. According to Page Six, the judge also issued a stern warning saying, “If you drive for any reason at all, you will be going back to jail.” Woods had previously said he would not hire a driver because of privacy concerns.
Woods was arrested in March following a rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida. In bodycam footage Woods could be seen telling a police officer that he had called President Donald Trump following the accident. Woods arrived at court with Vanessa Trump, the president’s former daughter-in-law, on Wednesday.

Tiger Woods’ golf career
Woods’ latest accident took place after he returned to competitive golf in TGL. There was hope he would play in the 2026 Masters, but after the accident a judge allowed him to leave the country to visit a comprehensive inpatient treatment facility in Switzerland. He returned in May.
Woods has only competed in TGL matches over the last couple years. He has not played a PGA Tour event since 2024. That year he appeared at all four majors. He made the cut at the ’24 Masters where he finished 60th. He missed the cut at the final three majors of the year.
Woods has not won a tournament since the 2019 Zozo Championship, which tied him with Sam Snead for the most victories in PGA Tour history.
