We also got a some more information about The only thing that remains really up in the air is what's to come next for the single-player series, but before we find out, we're going to have the chance to celebrate the most recent era in style.

In case you missed it, the most recent
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on the Nintendo Switch 2. The story takes place 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, and follows Link and Princess Zelda as they attempt to gather as many allies as possible from across Hyrule to fend off evil forces led by Calamity Ganon, who is trying to revive himself and destroy the kingdom.

It's a really fun game and it's more than deserving of a version that takes full advantage of the increased hardware capabilities of the Switch 2, as opposed to the original version of the console that it released on first. The full list of changes you can expect if you upgrade to the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Definitive Edition is as follows:

  • Smoother performance and higher resolution visuals
  • A new mode: Calamity Mode
  • GameShare support for up to two players locally or online via GameChat
  • Includes the base game and the Expansion Pass DLC
Interestingly, if you have save data for the original Age of Calamity on the Nintendo Switch, you should be able to easily transfer it across to the Switch 2 release, which is nice for those who only made it halfway through. At the same time, If you already own the game for Nintendo Switch, you can purchase the digital version of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Definitive Edition at a discounted price.
