Cal Raleigh may just be back, with the Seattle Mariners catcher hitting a three-homer game on Monday night against the Philadelphia Phillies.
It has been a season to forget for Raleigh following his incredible 60 HR season in 2025.
The Mariners find themselves still below .500, with an underwhelming 63-69 record for the 2026 season.
However, there have been some recent signs for optimism despite two heavy defeats over the last week.
Dan Wilson’s team have won six of their last 10 games as they remain just three wins behind the Texas Rangers.
Beating the Phillies on Monday was mightily impressive, but Raleigh’s three home run game has equalled a 71-year MLB record.

The ‘Big Dumper’ has been missing a spark this season following his 2025 season that saw him push Aaron Judge for the AL MVP award.
Raleigh has now hit four homers in his last four games following Monday’s win over the Phillies.
He also etched his name into the history books after becoming only the third player to hit a three-homer game against a side coming into the game on the back of nine or more consecutive wins.
Ironically, the last player to do so was Gus Bell in 1955, and he also achieved this feat against the Phillies.
The first player to make this record was all the way back in 1935, when Moose Solters scored three homers against the Detroit Tigers.
It may well be a unique record to hold, but it should give Mariners fans some optimism that Raleigh could well be rediscovering some of his best form from last season.
Monday night’s performance took Raleigh up to 17 home runs for the season, which is still a far cry from the 60 he managed the previous year.
However, if he is able to tap into that kind of form, then top spot of the AL West is not off the cards completely for the Mariners in the remaining weeks of the season.
Two more games against the impressive Phillies await the M’s at T Mobile Park, though.
