Rohit Roy with the 1990s Doordarshan show Swabhimaan. Back then, television was still in its early stages, and since the show was a massive hit, everyone associated with it got to revel in its success. But, not every show was that lucky. While television has a far wider reach than films, there is a certain hierarchy that places film actors above TV actors, and while many have said that it’s time to move on from that class system, shared that there is a distinct difference between film and TV actors. He called TV a “dustbin medium” and said that the way TV actors conduct themselves lacks class.
