Even as concerns grow across the country about analogue paneer (non-dairy paneer)’, the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has prohibited its manufacture, storage, distribution and sale that is being sold as ‘paneer’.
Invoking the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, the government agency issued prohibitory orders that will be in force for one year beginning September 10, 2026.
