Sunderland Are Set To Rival Brentford For This West Ham United Talent: Good Choice For Le Bris?

In a recent report, DSports stated that Sunderland are set to rival Brentford for West Ham United talent El Hadji Malick Diouf this summer. It has been mentioned that the Black Cats are showing interest in recruiting the Senegalese left-back this off-season.

Diouf’s Impressive Numbers In English Football

Diouf enjoyed a decent run of form at the London club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them on the left flank. The 21-year-old picked up five assists in 32 matches for West Ham last season in the league.

The Senegalese talent is currently among the best young full-backs in English football. Hence, the Black Cats would do well to get a deal done for him this off-season.

His current contract at the London Stadium will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Sunderland to sign him on a cut-price deal this month.

Will Diouf Be A Good Choice For Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris?

Diouf is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can even create some inviting chances for his teammates from the left flank.

The Senegalese sensation can even make a few driving runs with the ball and can contribute by securing a few important assists for his team. Diouf is primarily a left-back but can also function as a left-sided wide player or a defensive midfielder if told to do so. He already has some experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Wearside club.

Diouf would add more quality and depth to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris’ defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Stadium of Light next season.

At 21, the future looks quite bright for Diouf as long as he continues to improve with each year. He will also help the Black Cats challenge across all fronts over the next few years. All in all, Diouf would be an excellent choice for Sunderland to pursue for the long run, so Le Bris would be wise to step up his efforts to sign him this month.
