Antonio Brown remains one of the most electric and polarizing figures in Pittsburgh Steelers history. But inside the team’s modern-day wide receiver room, AB’s prime years represent something far simpler: the ultimate masterclass in route running and relentless work ethic. Appearing on teammate Cameron Heyward’s podcast, “Not Just Football with Cam Heyward,” the Steelers’ receiving corps discussed Brown’s impact. Current Steelers receivers Germie Bernard, Michael Pittman Jr., and Roman Wilson shared that they actively study a massive, private film library containing roughly 1,000 targets spanning Brown’s decade-long NFL career. "Big one for me is AB," Wilson shared when asked who he emulates on the field. "I have a whole cutup I got from the old coach Z [Zach Azzanni]. It's like a thousand. It's literally all his targets since he's been in the league and I watch this all the time. Like, he is top three receiver all the time for me. And, you know it’s just his intensity. It’s so hard to emulate."
Heyward, who spent eight seasons as Brown’s teammate in Pittsburgh, quickly backed up the claim. The veteran defensive captain emphasized that Brown’s legendary production was forged through an almost obsessive approach to daily practice reps. "AB when it came to practice, he would run everything into the end zone and everybody be waiting on him, but it was like it's not like he wasn't running back," Heyward recalled. "And then like punt return, doing the same exact thing. Kickoff return, it was just every rep and you were like, 'Man, this dude is a fanatic when it came to football.'" While Brown’s tenure in Pittsburgh ended in turmoil, his on-field impact continues to reverberate through the facility. For a young group of wideouts looking to establish consistency and refine their technique, studying AB's tape provides the precise blueprint needed to dominate in the Black and Gold.
