Texas has one of the most talented rosters in college football entering the 2026 season, but it suffered a potentially significant injury in fall camp. According to Orangebloods' Anwar Richardson, starting left tackle Trevor Goosby left practice on Monday with an apparent knee injury. 247Sports' Chip Brown reported that the injury was non-contact, but further details — including the severity — are not currently known. Goosby was set to undergo further evaluation on Tuesday morning. If Goosby does miss significant time this season for the Longhorns, it would be a major loss. The top returning member of Texas' offensive line, Goosby was a First Team All-SEC selection as a redshirt sophomore last season.

Goosby has appeared in 30 games for the Longhorns, starting 15 of them (including all 13 games last season). If he has to miss all or part of the season, Texas will be largely relying on unproven depth. Wake Forest transfer Melvin Siani was expected to start opposite Goosby, and behind them are returning players Jordan Coleman and Andre Cojoe. They've played in just five combined games, with Cojoe missing the entire 2025 season after suffering an injury in fall camp.
